"Dispositor Theory widely utilized in Nadi Astrology"

A planet transmits its power to the signs owned by it. For instance, Jupiter owns Sagittarius and Pisces. If Jupiter is exalted, then Sagittarius and Pisces become powerful. Not only the signs owned by the planet, but the Planets posited in these signs also become powerful. Dispositor is the planet who is the lord of the sign. For instance, if Mars is in Cancer, Cancer is owned by the Moon and hence Moon becomes the dispositor of Mars.
You cannot fully understand a planet without knowing it’s disposition. The dispositor is a huge factor in creating that disposition. A planet who disposits many other planets gains significant influence over “disposition” of all of those planets. That is how dispositors gain influence and opportunity in a horoscope. Below are the examples:
1. A Planet placed in a rasi will have its effect on the lord of the rasi. For example, if Saturn is in Cancer it will have its effect on Moon wherever Moon is placed. Therefore, for this native Moon gives only materialistic life. Note, Cancer is one of the Moon trines.
2. A Planet placed in a rasi will have its effect on the second rasi of the lord also. For example, if Mercury is in Aries it will not only have its effect on Mars, the lord of Aries but also on the second rasi of Mars, i.e. Scorpio. Scorpio and Aries are owned by Mars. Similarly Mars also shows its effect on Mercury and for this effect, planets between Mars and Mercury have to be studied.
For example, if Jupiter is in Sagittarius and Mercury is in Pisces, the effect of Jupiter on Mercury (debilitated) results in obstruction in education. Look, Jupiter and Mercruy are enemies here. The intensity of hurdles depends on the planets between Jupiter and Mercury. If they are malefic, especially Rahu/ Ketu, the intensity of hurdles will be high. On the other hand if there are benefics, hurdles will be modified. If Mars is placed between Jupiter and Mercury, education with breaks can be indicated. However, if Moon is there, change of place of education can be foreseen.
3. A planet placed in a rasi will have its effect on all planets linked with it and also on the own house of those planets. For example, if Jupiter is in Sagittarius and Mercury is in Aries they are placed in trines to each other and thus they are linked. If in such a situation Moon is placed in Virgo, the house of Mercury then both Jupiter and Mercury will have their effect on Moon though not directly linked with Moon. Here, Jupiter, Mercury and Moon link results in losses in landed property, besides changes in education.
Types of Dispositors:
There are several ways a planet can become the dispositor of another.

Sign Dispositors:
The simplest way to become a dispositor is to own the sign that a planet occupies. Mars, for example, becomes a dispositor for any planet that occupies his signs: Aries & Scorpio. Venus becomes a dispositor for any planet who occupies her signs: Taurus & Libra, etc.

Exaltation dispositor:
The planet who gets exalted in a sign is called the Exaltation dispositor. For instance, Jupiter gets exalted in Cancer. Hence the exaltation dispositor of Cancer is Jupiter and its sign dispositor is Moon.

Thus, planets gain influence by dispositing other planets, especially when those other planets are themselves quite potent and strong.
Final Dispositors:
Every dispositor will itself have a dispositor, until you get to one that you designate the “final dispositor.” The final dispositor can become very influential, especially when it is the final dispositor of many or all of the planets in a horoscope.

How do you decide that a planet should be the “final dispositor”? Normally this happens when you get to a dispositor who occupies it’s own sign. Such planets disposit themselves. Alternatively it can happen when the chain of dispositorship returns to a planet.
For example, if Moon is in Taurus, so Venus is her dispositor. Venus is in Capricorn, so her own dispositor is Saturn. Saturn is in Aquarius, which is his own sign; so he disposits himself. He largely creates his own disposition. Since Saturn has no dispositor besides himself, he is the final dispositor of the Moon and of Venus.
In another example of a final dispositor which is not in its own sign. We start with Saturn (simply because we picked Saturn and want to know about its dispositors). Because it is in Taurus, Venus is its dispositor. Because Venus is in Sagittarius, Jupiter is her dispositor. Because Jupiter is in Cancer, the Moon is his dispositor. Because the Moon is in Libra, Venus is his dispositor. We already mentioned Venus in this chain! Therefore a closed loop will form with Venus as the focal point. This makes Venus the final dispositor.
In this case we have traced the dispositors of four planets, Saturn, Venus, Jupiter and the Moon. We have discovered that Venus is the final dispositor of all of them. On this basis Venus gains considerable opportunity to exert what strength she possesses and influence the rest of the chart to cooperate with her intentions.
